Colleen Lamont

Colleen Lamont has held senior managerial and executive roles in the insurance, mining and energy sectors. She knows a thing or two about identifying, managing and mitigating risk, and as our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) she uses that knowledge to benefit our clients and annuitants.

Before joining Blumont Annuity, Colleen was Senior Vice President, Operations and Vice President, Capital Markets & Treasury for Brookfield Wealth Solutions. In these roles, she oversaw the upgrading and implementing of two critical systems: a risk management system and an investment accounting system. She also worked with Blumont Annuity‘s CEO, helping to expand Brookfield Wealth Solutions‘ pension risk transfer (PRT) business. These skills are all directly applicable to supporting Blumont Annuity’s clients in de-risking their pension liabilities and ensuring the security of their employees’ pensions.

As CFO, Colleen’s responsibilities touch to some degree upon virtually all of Blumont Annuity’s activities. In addition to financial analysis, planning and reporting, she also plays a vital role in monitoring and valuing our assets and supporting our actuaries in verifying pension calculations. Colleen also works with our Operations team, who ensure that our annuitants receive consistently outstanding service.

Colleen‘s broad understanding of risk and focus on risk management helps her support her colleagues in analyzing our clients’ challenges and developing flexible, tailored PRT solutions. Similarly, with her wide-ranging experience at Brookfield Wealth Solutions and her training as a Chartered Accountant and CPA, Colleen is well prepared to oversee the strategic initiatives of Blumont Annuity Company’s finance department.

In keeping with her commitment to our annuitants, Colleen also focuses on community engagement through volunteer activities. She is treasurer of an initiative sponsored by Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada that supports young women and was the past President and Treasurer of the Junior League of Toronto.
