General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

An annuity is a promise. As Blumont Annuity’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Susie Taing helps us keep that promise. Her experience and expertise make her particularly well-suited to the task. Most recently, she was Assistant General Counsel for the Canadian branches of a large multinational reinsurance company, where she focused on legal and regulatory compliance issues. Before that, she was Counsel to the Group Retirement Services (GRS) business unit of a Canadian life insurance company, advising on risk and operations, and negotiating retirement-related insurance policies.

As lead negotiator, she gained first-hand experience in successfully concluding multi-million-dollar pension risk transfer agreements. This knowledge is invaluable in providing Blumont Annuity and our clients with guidance on regulatory issues, potential hurdles, and mutually beneficial routes to concluding a successful transaction. Susie is particularly skilled and interested in finding ways to support clients with unique challenges when transferring pension risk.
